The Art of Dancing

The art of dancing represents the motion of contemporary dance while using motion blur. The picture itself is one of the best representations of how motion blur and composite shots combined together can give us descriptive stories. Considering how excited I was for this particular shoot because after 2 years of staying away from the artistic photography concept I finally got a chance to do this shoot with two dancers. Chiara when I discussed the idea with her asked me if her friend Fleur could join us during the shoot. Even though like always I was sceptical about deciding if I should have two models in a single shoot I took the chance. Honestly, looking at it now I think it couldn’t have been better than this.

Mermaid Stranded on Shore

This Photoshoot was done with Tina Mchedlishvili in Sitges. Although more like Merida, I decided in the middle of the shoot to give a try to a shot where she looked like a mermaid who was stranded on the shore. And hence we got this picture representing a mermaid stranded over a rock. Her wet clothes represent the idea that she just came out of the water while her bodied emotions show how anxious all this is for her.

Lonely Lar Gibbon in Captivity

While visiting Lille Zoo I came to see this Lar Gibbon sitting all alone collecting leaves from the ground and just looking at it. I realized that it was the only one in the captivity not sure about the reason I clicked this photo, and it came out perfectly representing its loneliness. This lonely Lar Gibbon was a perfect representation of what captivity can do to one. Just a year later as COVID lockdowns were enforced we found this out by ourselves.

Friendship in Contrast

Friendship in Contrast, was part of a photoshoot in which I joined John Julian for a day in Sweden. The models included Patricja and Anja. Although both were great friends you could see the contrast in their personalities which gave me the idea to click this shot which I have huge artistic value in my mind.

Skeleton of Prisoner in Prague Castle

If you happen to travel to Prague Castle, during the tour you will come across the Jail of the castle. Just at the entrance even visible from the outside, you can see the skeleton of prisoner. This was a very nice glimpse for me as to how well the bones of the prisoners were preserved after all these years.

Maman by Louise Bourgeois

Maman by Louise Bourgeois is a masterpiece of art which was placed right in front of Guggenheim Museam, Bilbao until recently. Maman recently found a new home in Greece and is currently placed at Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

Maman is the French word for Mother. Bourgeois stated that the work was symbolic of her mother, a weaver and tapestry restorer. With twenty eggs in its abdomen, the sculpture embodies ideas of maternal protection. However, the artist’s relationship with motherhood was ambiguous, contradictory, and complex. Dominating its surroundings and teetering on rangy, segmented legs, Maman also evokes fear and suggests entrapment.

In this picture, Maman is surrounded by fog which was released every night improving the region’s ambience. I took a long exposure shot to give it a much more artistic effect and to help disappear any surrounding people that may make the picture less artsy.

Silhouette of Two Friends form Heart

This is one of my favourite most shot I captured. It has especially artistic value to it. The two friends in the frame are my seniors. The friends form heart shape with their bodies in the picture quite artistically.

Elen Alien: Artist Becomes Art

This particular shoot in Sweden is one of my favorite most shoots done with an Artist to this day. Not only because it was a totally raw concept but also because it helped me learn something new. I titled this shoot with Elen Alien which is an alias, as “Elen Alien: Artist Becomes Art” because of how the whole photoshoot turned so much artistic over the day. While the initial idea I brought was just to take mere portrait of her drawing which is what I usually do with artists to help build them portfolios, I ended up making some really nice portrait over the shoot.
